John G. Morgan, 83, of Burkburnett, Texas passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2012 in Wichita Falls,Texas. Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday, March 31, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at St. John The Divine Anglican Church of Burkburnett with The Rev. John Munson and The Rev. James Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Burkburnett Memorial Cemetery under direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Burkburnett.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 30, 2012 at the funeral home from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
John was born in Hanna, Wyoming to Sidney L. and Agnes (Gardner) Morgan, January 11, 1929. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. John graduated from Gillette High School in Gillette,Wyoming in 1948. He married Joyce Vaughn in Montgomery, Alabama in 1952. He was a founding member of The St. John The Divine Anglican Church here in Burkburnett. John worked with the Boy Scouts of America for over 30 years. He was a National Volunteer of the year for the U.S. Forest Service. John was a Mason and worked as a Civil Service Instructor. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joyce Morgan, of Burkburnett; son, John Morgan Jr. and his wife Mary Alice of Early, Texas; daughter, Joy McCrary Eaton and her husband Kenneth of Terrell,Texas; granddaughter, Evaughn McCrary; and numerous nieces and nephews and friends.
